Wristbands are designed specifically for tool drop prevention and to facilitate work at height. A number of tool lanyards are compatible with Wristbands, making it easy to tie off tools while at height.
Never exceed the load rating of a Wristband
The load rating of a wristband should never be exceeded. Furthermore, if a wristband is being used with a tool lanyard, attachment point, and/or any other component, the load rating of the weakest component should never be exceeded.
Do not attach objects over 5 lbs (2.3kg) to a human
We recommend never to attach any individual tool weighing over 5 lbs (2.3kg) to a person working at height. While some tool lanyards are capable of handling more than 5 lbs, loads greater than this increase the risk of pulling a person over a ledge if a drop occurs.
When working with tools that weigh more than 5 lbs, the tool should be secured to a fixed structure that is safe to tether from. It is also critical that an appropriate tether is used that is capable of handling the load of the attached tool. Furthermore, if using an Attachement Point, the Attachment Point must be load rated to handle the attached tool.
For use with 3M™ DBI-SALA® products only
Our wristbands are designed to be used with other 3M™ DBI-SALA® products, and should not be used with off-brand tool lanyards or attachment points.
